Hi all, bought a Y piece and carbon can a while back to fit to my 1150GS ADV. Had a go at fitting it but struggling to get the can off. There is a stainless cover over the join and although Ive undone the clamp bolt and the main clamp, the can is solid. Am i missing another clamp somewhere? Cheers in advance. Steve

I seem to remember when I took mine off that it required a lot of wiggling about to loosen it off, quite a tight fit between the cat outlet and the silencer inlet.

+ 1 for needing lots of wiggling and straining ...

... plus skinned knuckles and rather too many uses of the 'F***' word :augie !

I did it myself and there were more than a few times where I was wiggling so much that I thought the bike would come off the main stand! Spray copious ammounts of WD 40 too, leaving overnight ...

GOOD LUCK :thumb

Yep all of that true. Except the skinned knuckles- got a black mans pinch instead. (Can you still use that term?) Its a real nightmare getting the y peice and can on though. The y peice is quite slack on the front pipes and had to use shims between the clamp and pipe to get it to tighten. The bend in the y peice is also quite close to a bolt on the bottom of the rear shock. Went to fit the can and that is pretty loose on the pipe too and so I buggered up the clamp trying to tighten it  So got to find a new clamp tomorrow :( Another problem is the strap that came with the can is no where near to lining up with the original can mount arggggggg.....:mad::mad: Ill just have to use a rubber strap or something unless someone hase come across this before? I need a
