After a bit of research I'm thinking of a 18x2.5 rear and adding 2 links to the chain to lengthen it to 114 links. Had thought stainless hd spokes. I've got a spare hub so now just looking for a supplier/wheel builder. Any advice from anyone who's already done it? Thinking of hagon or talon unless anyone has any other suggestions?

At 112 links the tyre would hit the underside of the bike at full compression. Apparently. :D

From the wheel's current position, do you have at least .625" rearward adjustment?

Even if you do, you may still want more to adjust out any chain wear.

I haven't measured yet but is the .625" the length of a link? I'm running a 15 tooth front sprocket too so I wonder if I can get away with leaving the chain at 112...?

I had a quote back from Talon by 11am so a quick response from them. 18x2.50 Black rim £128.11, spoke set £68, build £52.50. So with the vat and me supplying the hub, £298.33 plus postage.

I'll think I'll try Hagon and Central Wheels to see how much they are too. Then I need to sort out the front. This could get expensive.

The effective length of one link is 0.625".

What is the OE front sprocket size?

good point, you will need a larger sprocket too, otherwise you will be changing the gearing. there is a lot of info on the chain gang.
Also if you havent got a fully threaded chain tensioner bolt, you will not be able to pull the wheel further back. The normal chain is ok if you drop the fron sprocket to 15T or even 14T which you should anyway.

OE is 16T.

Cheers for the info. I changed the chain tensioner bolts to fully threaded ones a while ago so that should be ok and I'm running a 15T on the front anyway. :thumb
