"Exchangeable Retrospectively " RealOEM meaning

I'm a bit confused and hope someone here knows more than I do..

I need to get a new instrument cluster for a r1200r (sorry.. I know it is not a GS but this is the section with the smartest people!)

I put the VIN in realOEM and found out the part I need

Does the list below mean that I can also use ***4230 or ***1481?
Is that what "Exchangeable retrospectively" means??

My guess is backwards compatible, but I wouldn't risk a lot of cash on that.

Does the dealer not have to program these to work anyway?
