Georgia & I will be staying in Exeter on Saturday then heading down to
Plymouth ferry for afternoon sailing Sunday.
I don't know the area at all, any advice for a decent route that will take
no more than 4 hours welcome,
Thanks

straight thru the moors

got a mate that lives in plymouth belerva on the th edge of the moors i normaly ride to exeter then take the b3212 then the last bit a386 all the way to plymouth

google it very nice ride

Take the A379 from Exeter to Dawlish,Teignmouth,Shaldon,Torquay,Paignton then head for Brixham and take the ferry road for Dartmouth. Cross to Dartmouth and then take the main road out past the Royal Navy College to top of the hill and turn left towards Stoke Fleming (still the A379) and Kingsbridge and follow all the way to Plymouth

Did an Exeter to Plymouth route yesterday, taking the light vehicle route off A30 at Exeter turn off to Moretonhampstead across Dartmoor. Then from Tavistock to Launceston and turn left to Plymouth.
Plenty of great views and places to stop.
Great 1st ride on new bike

Feck knows, but I'm in the area myself as i have a sailing Plymouth-Santander on Sunday...
But, those Devon TRF boys are out to drag me up a trail or two on Sunday morning......
I reckon I'll need a jetwash prior to the roll on th Plymouth quayside.
Maybe I'll meet you on the line.:thumb2

Timpo.

Timpo.

You got away lightly but only because I didn't want to get the XR dirty.
For future reference we took Timpo from a breakfast at the top of Telegraph Hill down to Starcross and followed the coast via Dartmouth ferry and castle to view the recovered WWII tank at Slapton before sending him on his way.
I guess he'll post some pics on his return.

Very nice, great fish and chips at Slapton too!:topic
Ahem. Torcross I think (The Tower at Slapton is a decent pub with a good menus but Slapton has not much else to offer). ;)

I bumped into a bloke on a white Harley who mentioned your name the other day. What sort of circles are you spending time with these days?

Torcross... at the end of Slapton, pub well known for a tank and their fish and chips!
Oh, and i've been trying to get that hogger back on a GS for ages!:aidan

That'll be Ralphy I expect, I heard he had repainted his 883 white.
Haven't seen him for ages.
That's him. Well it was a dinky little Harley and I think that's the 883. It was very white indeed.

It was me indeed. The Harley is for sale (on fleabay now) and it looks like I'm returning to the wonderful world of GS ownership... ;)
