Hi all,

I know that some of you like to come out to watch the Exeter trial which takes place this weekend.
It starts Friday night and finishes around Sat lunchtime at Torquay.
Link to a couple of spectator sections on Sat morning here,
refshttp://www.themotorcyclingclub.org.uk/events/exeter_spectate.htm

Been trying to insert the full list of sections but must be doing something wrong as can't get them the right size!
Will try again later

Hopefully not, cheating by riding the wifes Ttr 250 for a change!
Just as well as the Dakar is in pieces after it's day on the Plain!:D

please DONT come to watch

I will be trying (very trying) to get my 990 round :comfort

Then again you can all come to help push :aidan

All ready to go, excited now:D Next sleep, Sat am on the floor at Exeter services!

Just been down to Simms near Bovey Tracey for a couple of hours to watch Muzzy, Micheal and the others through. Got down there just before they arrived and had pasties and coffee in the village hall. I walked the 10 minutes to the section and waited for them to come through. Didnt get a lot of photos as I had the camera on the wrong setting :blast but had it to hand when Micheal arrived at the section.

Simms is steep, wet mud on top of polished rock, it was hard to walk up! We were stood half way up and if Micheal had got that KTM up there he would have deserved a medal, he should get one for just being mad enough to try. He rode down to Taunton yesterday from London, then down to Cornwall to the start, back up to Yeovil and had then been riding all night before tackling this at 11am.

Only one sidecar outfit made it and when I left after half the cars, only two had managed to get up there.

I'm afraid there was an inevitability about this before you started :D but bloody good effort ... your f*cking nuts :clap

What a great event.:thumb2

Good weather today both for competitors and spectators. Decent blast on GS to get there with some interesting little roads on Dartmoor. Competitors all very friendly and down to earth, grass roots motorsports at its best.

Might have a go myself next year.:)

I've done it in a car

Shall we get a team up of newbies, Trippy could be persuaded if it wasn't too cold:augie

Well that's the Exeter done for another year.
Here is a selection of pics taken during the trial. Some are not that good due to damp camera and me probably shaking with tiredness but will hopefully give a flavor of the event and persuade some of you to have a go.

Not much point taking any pics during the night so here we are at Exeter services after a good few sections. A typical scene at the services!

First section after breakfast, Xanthia Petherick on her DT50. She got it up all but two of the sections even if she did have to run up some with it due to lack of power. Fair play to her! 07.38AM

Just need to put some air into our tyres and ride back home

Got back home at 2.45pm after washing the bike down on the way. Just under 400 miles on the Ttr in total. It needs a gel seat next time!
Shower and bed by 3.30!!!

A great night out, very mild temps. We did get some rain but nothing too bad.
I messed up the first special test by overrunning the line so that will count as a fail. I cleaned the rest of the trial so that may well have cost me a win:rolleyes:

Still it was a really good event and looking forward to the Lands end on Good Friday now.
Regs wil be out in the next week or so if anyone wants to give it a go.
If you want to pick my (small) brain about MCC trials feel free:thumb2

Great pic's and a couple of familiar faces Bob C & John B looks like JB's has been busy with the bike since last saw him at Beacons, these LDT do look good.
