exhaust question on 1150R

numpty alert, my exhaust comes down in 2 pipes, then goes into a rectangular box, then to the OE silencer. It sort of looks like a Y but correct me if I am wrong, the rectangle is the collector box and a Y pipe is much simpler, 2 pipes into one to exhaust?

How often do you carry panniers?

Well just for starters, down to Morocco and back riding through France and Spain six times :D - lands end to John O Groats, twice to Ireland. .. and there’s more :D

How often do you carry panniers?

Same as Steptoe.

Had Y + Remus Can (and used panniers for traveling) for about 30/40.000km (if we only count km with panniers on) – my R1150R lasted 124.000km
It started melting the panniers only when a car pushed on me while in traffic and bent the rear frame (where the end can is attached) making it point towards the pannier.

The only other issue: I had to repack the Remus can after about 40/50k km. Relatively easy job.

Interesting.
My experience is obviously based on my own riding, but IIRC it only took about a couple of days riding to burn the hole in my left side pannier when I had the OE can on with the Y-piece. I don't use the panniers much.
