Exhaust Rattle

I have a 1998 R1100 Gs all standard, ive noticed recently when she gets warm and i stop at traffic lights for instance i can hear a rattle coming from the exhaust. All mountings are fine and tight, am i right in thinking theres ceramic parts in the cat could it be these that are rattling when warm and theyve expanded and come loose.

No ceramics ...

... but there are a series of baffles inside the cat, perhaps one has had the temerity to come unstuck; shoddy workmanship indeed, a mere 14 years

Proably loose baffles etc...nothing to worry about

Cheers for fast reply that sounds about right, its not a brilliant sound though at the traffic lights abit embarrassing

Don't worry about it, just look all around as if it is coming from elsewhere....my testicles do it on my airhead

AFAIK there's no CAT within the stainless box between the headers and the end can if you have a UK bike, though EU ones did.

Best solution, get some better ear plugs
