I've just rode a 2010 GSA and loved the exhaust sounds.

I have a R1200GS - 09 any ideas on how i can get a similar sound from my bike?

New end can?, header pipes?, etc any recomendations very grateful.

A new can will make it sound better. New headers will make it go better. You can guess what adding both does :D

Thanks

Any end cans that you would recommend - just after a better sound at the moment the standard can is fair to quiet for me. Any recommended dealers?

Remus are most common. I put an ad up in the wanted section here for a titanium Remus and got one for a very good price. Don't go for alloy cans as you're forever polishing.

I was reluctant to pay the akra/remus costs for a can, and a mate had good experience of Beowulf (not on a GS), so I decided to give them a whirl as they're reasonably priced anyway, and Tossers get a 10% discount :thumb2 As in the previous post - no difference in go, but a better (imho), deeper and a little louder sound. After fitting the can, Keihan headers also went on, which made it louder still, but also improved the low and mid range oomph.

I've only heard a 2010 at standstill at a dealers when they fired one up for me to hear, so can't really compare, but I'm definitely pleased with my mods so far, urge as well as sound.

If your interested there's a shot of my bike with both fitted in the Beowulf thread in the discount section.

Good luck

I bought a Beowolf end can last week, and yes it sounds gooooooood
Unfortunatley I have less will power than a Nympho in Amsterdam, so just to get THAT sound and the lovely popping ang banging on the over run I found myself riding WAY too fast.

Mmmmm and I bought a big trailie to slow me down :blast

SO . . . . . . the end has to go before my licence does, it's only done about 60 miles so it's like new. If you fancy it I'll pop in on a courier to you for £100
