Hi all, before I begin, let me say that I have done a search and found a number of threads on this subject, however, they all seem to be getting old, so I thought I'd ask just in case there is any new technolegy or methods out there.
So, the studs on one of my 1100's are very bad (original exhaust and dome nuts not domed any more
) and although they are not causing leakage at the moment, I thought it might be prudent to get them replaced before the summer jaunt to Spain.
So, what is the best way to get them out without shearing them off, and once I have sheared them off, what's the best solution for getting the remnants out of the head without major expense.
I'm not a mechanic but can do nuts and bolts jobs, and I do have access to various forms of heat, and having read varoius threads, it would appear that stud extractors are best left on the shelf??
