Can any modification be done to the stock exhaust on a GSA 07.
Purely for sound reasons.

Just take it off....bike runs fine if you've still got the cat.

Best just wait for a second hand Remus or akra - they come up for sale quite regularly.

and does anyone know what happens if I fit aftermarket headers WITHOUT the balance pipe?
(Yes I assume the timing cover gets dirtier quicker

Cut it open. Gut it completely. Weld it back up.

Louder exhaust, that still looks standard.

What do you mean, 'What happens'?

I have Remus headers (no balance pipe), with a Remus can. The gas flow is apparently faster and it does not do any apparent harm, if that's what you mean?

It doesn't appear to make any difference if the Headers have or don't a balance pipe.
I also have Remus headers, which give a big performance (and noise) improvement.
