Which exhausts system has the best sound on the GS 1200.
Remus, Sebring, Arrow others ????

Remus is certainly a fine can, favored by many German GS riders. Sounds good, admittedly. I have fixed an Australian Staintune pipe (bargain due to good exchange rate, mind): powerful bass, makes jap riders' guts vibrate when you overtake them on curvy mountain roads. May not be entirely street legal when you remove the db-eater, though.

The GS12 I test rode had a Remus system on it.

I really could not get on with it due to it's sound (not volume). At a 60/70mph cruise it seemed to 'drone' which became very anoying after a short while - I really don't think I could put up with that on a long trip.

Just to make it clear, it was not the volume (my last bike, a race tuned CMM had a straight through system and I loved that!), just the sound of it when on a constant throttle.

Is it just me, has anybody else found the same?

On a slightly different tack I am also keen to fit a 'pipe' but my understanding is that the 12 runs quite week as standard, so, untill a Powecomander (or similar) becomes available I'm going to stay with the stock system.

Agree with the comment about the Remus can drone on my GS Adv. Didn't enjoy it for long, and in particular motorway, trips. I swopped it back and forth with the regular can. Easy to do.

Short blatts - Remus
Touring - BMW OEM

Perfect combination.

I have a LeoVince SBK Slip On Evo 2, it looks and sounds nice on my bike...
Sorry no pic.

Carbon can straight through with a db killer thats Bs stamped. Unobtrusive on the motorway, a nice noise under load , cheap and doesnt annoy the police or neighbours.

Very happy with it.

Bos

I have the Bos full system, it sounds great with the baffels in, have not tried them out yet, there is a noticible power increase and its a wee bit diffrent from your usual Remus.

Don't be a Remus sheep, Be a bosy rhino!
