EXO2 Heated clothing

Has anyone got any experience of the EXO2 heated clothing, particularly the Storm Rider. I like the idea of a heated fabric rather than having bits of wire heating elements all over the place which will presumably harden and fail over time. I got a cheap body warmer off eBay with these fabric panels but you get what you pay for and this only has one small heating panel and no control over the heat, so I'm looking for something a bit better and the EXO2 appears to be the only one using the same technology.

Hi Mate.
Ive had the heated waistcoat for 3+ years now. used throughout the winter months. And it still looks like new. In my opinion very well made and certainly does the job. If you could try one on first for fit would be a good idea as the snugger the fit the better heat transfer. I got the large and it's a bit 'slack' round the back area but still works well.
My only gripe would be the optional heat controller. I was never keen on fitting it to the bike. looks a bit scruffy but still does the job. Ive had 2 fail due to water ingress which was my own fault after taking the bracket off the unit and resealing it, (which is now mentioned as a no no on their website) but EXO2 replaced them no hastle

If their was anything i would change, then it would be the temp controller, a bit more like the keir one would be easier.

All in all a great, hardwearing piece of kit. You will not be dissapointed.

Denise and I both have them. She uses the battery pack when she's on her 125, which only heats some of the panels but is better than nowt. On the GS she says it's fantastic.
I use it with the on/off switch which was free. My only complaint is that it can get too hot for me at times, so a temperature controller would be useful. Not if they're as poor as suggested though.
The clothing itself is very robust, I have worn mine all last winter and it hardly looks used.

Mines coming up to 3 years old now and I love it. I bought the controller that sits on the handlebars, the first one was replaced as it leaked (great customer services btw) the replacement unit has been fine for 2.5 years and still going strong. I would buy this product again without hesitation

Edit: just noticed your not too far away from me, if you want to try mine on your more than welcome, mines a large size, 40-42 ish chest

Sandra, my partner has one, and thinks itr great if a little bulky. Keis now do a vest with similar conductive material but they are much less bulky and are half the price of the Storm Rider.

I got one after seeing Cookie's one. Been good. Used it this morning and it was nice and warm even without switching it on.

Although I think Keiss works on the same principles (fabric rather than just a wire) and they are cheaper.

Excellent feedback. Thanks everybody.

I'll see if I can get a look at both at the NEC show, but all the comments make me think that the EXO2 may be more expensive but is good quality, so potentially worth the difference. Customer service being good is another incentive.

I see what you mean about the controller. I'll have to have a look at how it works and see if I can make something a bit easier to use.

I've had mine 2 months now and it is fantastic. The controller is a bit awkward. On the F800GS there is no easy place to mount it and this is not helped by the orientation of the writing and numeric display. 6 and 9 look teh same depending on which way up the controller is

I've also noticed that the central digit that makes up a 6 or a 9 is dim when it's on and when the unit is off the central digit appears to be on

I've pulled the fuse out and replaced it and its fine. Then a few days later it's back again. It has no adverse effect other than it makes it hard to read.

Thoise little foibles aside the jacket itself is top notch. The quality and the warmth you get from it are superb . I've tried a few others and I really would recommend it. The fact that there are no wires is a big bonus.

If they made one that covered your arms too that would be the mutts nuts.

I'm really happy with mine despite the iffy controller
