I recently ordered a Wunderlich Ergo Screen which was delivered yesterday. I noticed that there are what I would call Manufacturering Defects in that there are Surface Blemishes (visual and can be felt) on the Inner Surfaces where the Tight Curve is at the lower outer sides, also the lower third of the Screen is not Optically Clear. The Supplier has been great and has arranged for the Screen to be picked up today. My Question is. "Am I expecting too much". I have never bought an after market Screen before so have nothing to compare it with. Anyone else experienced this problem ?.
Thanks and Regards

No, I think you have done the right thing. When I took the protective film off mine I was amazed at the finish for what is afterall a large piece of transparent plastic. Presumably when you say "optically clear" you are referring to opacity rather than optical distortion, some degree of the latter being inevitable.

I will be refitting mine for the winter, if we get any.

Thanks for the reply Peter. Mine did not have the Protective film like you mention, just a Bubble Wrap type of packing. No it,s not distortion I,m bothered about but a distinct roughness which as I said can be felt to the touch as well as seen. I am a bit disapointed to say the least but lets see what my Supplier thinks. If all others in his "Stock" are the same then they are of no use to me.
Regards.

I don't think you're expecting too much at all.

I've bought a few aftermarket screens in the past, including the MRA Vario on my 1200, and I always enjoyed peeling off the protective plastic film to reveal the perfectly flat, clear plastic beneath. One of life's little pleasures. :D

Good luck with the supplier...

Of course your not!
send the crap back and demand full postage costs as well. you buy something to do a certain job and some ass sends you a seconds by the sound of it. These companies are responsable for there own quality control if they cant be arsed then tell all and embarass them. its just a usual try and pass on crap dodge. Complain like hell.

How much did you pay? If its cheap then you need to be realistic, but if you paid a lot of money then, you have a right to expect a quality item.

I've got an ergo screen and whilst its not perfect around the tight curves (!) the main bit is fine - little or no distortion. Reckon you got a bad one.

Agreed.
I have the earlier model on my 1150GS and apart from unavoidable distortion around the tight curves, it is perfectly clear and there are no imperfections to the surface.

not too much
its got to work and perform as its use
if the screen is not damage and its blurry or sharp ,then the shop aswell should check this :blast
we sell loads of screen, fairing panels and everthing else
we check for two reason,if we order a new product we check if we would stick it on our bikes cheap crap is still cheap crap
:rob

hope there sort it :Aurelius

Up-date

Has anyone recently managed to get hold of a Wunderlich Ergo Screen. I have now been patiently waiting for my Order or over two months now. My Dealer has been great and even sent me a Chrismas Pressy in appreciation of my patience and what with the Crappy Roads at the moment I,m not desperate. Is this the norm for Wunderlich or is it a case of German Efficiency gone Tits Up !!.
