Extending data cable from BT master socket for vdsl (cable broadband)

Hi folks, I recently upgraded to cable broadband but Openreach modem had to be linked in to the master socket in the hall. I now have better speed but worse wifi range.

Previously for adsl I ran an extension out of the back of the master to a box in the room behind. I intend to do the same again to move the Openreach modem.

The image below shows the connections I need to use. Does anyone know what connectors top and bottom need to link to on the faceplate of the extension box. I may chnge it to a data only plate as it only needs a rj11 jack.

I know I have a second option to move the Openreach jack plate to the box on the other side of the wall.

The connectors in the red circle are IDC connectors for a cable, you use a punch tool to push the cable into them to make the contact. You only need to trim the outer back, the inner insulation stays, a pair in a normal cat. V cable will do the job fine.

The home hub (BT Router) doesn't have to be in the main socket. Just plug it into your extension.

Or run a CAT 5 cable from the homehub to your computer.

Probably the easiest way is the to plug an RJ11 cable into the socket at the top of the plate shown.

The other way is to run a data extension. Connect the blue/white to the connectors circled on the plate. Run a cat5 cable to your computer and terminate on the terminals labelled blue/white on the data socket.

if its the wifi that's the problem get a wifi extender ( think they used to be called wireless bridges)
