External disk for iMac

Got an iMac but want to offload that and just use my Macbook Air. Problem is I have a lot of of photo's and iTunes stuff on the Mac - c. 600gb.

So I want to load it on an external disk and then use that same disk to access the stuff from the MacBook Air. Any bright ideas?

Get an external disk. Copy the iMac stuff to it. Plug it in to the Air.

Am I missing something?

Wifi linked Apple Timecapsule or apple TV...

I'm with Stolzy, 2TB external drive can be bought for about 60 beer tokens these days.....ideal to use as a back up drive and store all your pics on, thats what I have

whatever you buy, buy two.

you'll need to back up any disc that contains all your music and photos.
