Extra Fuel Tank

There's a long Camel tank post in the vendors section of ADV, make them for 800s and KTMs as well. Much better than a tall and Lardy GSA

I appreciate the amount of thought that went into engineering that. Thanks for posting.

Holy shit who would ever concider that better than a GSA I bet it costs more than buying a GSA in the first place

About 300 pounds to purchase. It looks a good product, however if you are riding an epic trip you are quite likely to have side panniers fitted? So why would u not purchase a decent plastic can. Also the bmw fuel gauge wil not be correct. Do the 6 litres become available when the main tank is empty.

That. I couldn't imagine an adventure without panniers!

I love farkling as much as any BMW rider but that's not for me, bloody ugly and expensive too. I would much rather carry a couple of 2-3L Touratech fuel cans on the panniers, a rotopax fuel can or even a couple of cheap regular jerry cans from the local shell garage strapped on the bike than that monstrosity.

What a load of shite :augie

So you lose the facility to carry a Vario pannier that has a feature (which when expanded) enables it to carry a larger than 6 litre fuel can plus some luggage should you so desire :blast

What a wanker :D

The camel tank works with panniers, and is plumbed into the main tank breather, so it empties as the Main tank empties, so your fuel gauge works properly. Much easier to use than Rotopaxs and or strapped fuel cans. So much cheaper than a bloated whale of a GSA, but maybe too discrete at Starbucks.

How does it work with panniers? certainly cannot work with varios?

What a truly peerless way to waste money. An idiotic stupid pointless chavy "look at my farkle" "solution" to a non existant problem. As has been said before buy either a jerrycan or similar and strap it to the bike. Dont lose the use of a pannier, dont need to plumb it in, cost relativley peanuts, can be used on more than one bike or car or boat etc. Simple is better, always.

FFS.

Breathe.........

only works with jesse and one other make the septic said in the video, not going to go through it again to find out which other

Ok it won't work with Varios on a big GS. Works on most 800 s and some other bikes such as Africa twins and some KTMs depending on pannier system fitted. If I had a GS, I would fit this if I wanted a GSA like capacity, much cheaper, but might not impress those who like the bulk of a GSA......anyway here's a link to the manufacturers http://www.camel-adv.com/articles.asp?ID=274#

I think if you are going to all that trouble you might as well make it a 20 litre tank as you lose a pannier anyway,

As has already been said I'd rather just stick a couple of jerry cans on my Touratwat panniers, if I was 1 up I could carry 4 if necessary, and let's face it if you need jerry cans you are probably not 2 up :nenau

....when you think you need to carry extra fuel in case you need it you end up carrying extra fuel everywhere.

If you use your extra fuel at the start of a journey then all you need is one of these - fill it up, strap it somewhere and when you've used 3.8 lt from the main tank pour this in roll it up and carry on

Fucking hell what a crock of shit. Just strap a 5 litre can on the back....if you really need the extra.
