I know, I know, it's all been said before.

For those of you who have, how did you go about fitting extra lights to your 1200gs?

I know there can be issues with the can-bus wiring these bikes have. I have already PM'd a couple of guys who fit lights to the GSs, but wanted a more general opinion on how easy or difficult this is if doing it yourself.

I'm looking for likely costs, what I would need (the lights are PIAA and winging their way right now). If doing this myself what should I lookout for, is there any where on the bike I can just plug into?

Any information you would like to impart, will be gratefully received.

Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all. Val.

Well had loads of lights fitted and all to a Migsel light bar which I really rate (it's for sale somewhere in the FS & W section by the way :augie), and never had a problem with the can bus using the high and low beam to trigger the relays.

Personally I prefer an after-market fuse box like the Centech unit to keep things tidy and also a switch on the lights linked to the main beam just in case the local constabulary give you any hassle. :blast

Drop me a PM if you want Val and I'll give you a ring and chat through some details of what I found worked. :thumb2

Agree with the above

Had BTBR's lights on my '05 1200 and have just taken them off to refit on my '08 1200 when it turns up in March. Only fully realised what a professional job they are when I stripped the bike to take them off.
