Bike is a R100GS PD Classic (1995).

Fitted two LED driving lamps as much to be seen as see better myself. I'm using an original switch mounted on the left of speedometer and obviously switching via a relay. I don't really want to cut into wires in the loom but thinking there must be somewhere I can easily connect onto - ideally under the tank as I've mounted the relay there and saves grovelling behind the dials - not so easy to get there on a PD.

Where do you recommend?

No wire cutting necessary. Hopefully this helps https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showt...lay-Activated-Low-Budget?highlight=Spotlights

Actually, just had a quick read of my old thread and it's not obvious where I'm getting the power from. So, from memory as I'm too lazy to go out and check right now I believe the trigger power to activate the relay is coming from a piggyback on the ignition coil feed and the main current into the relay is from the battery, ........I think.

The PD has its fuse box on the LH side of the battery,
You could splice to a switched live there or go from the aux socket.
Iirc you can get blade fuses with a spur coming off ,maybe a solution.
Personally I’d avoid the ign and charging wiring,I prefer to keep unessential aux circuits away from essential stuff.
I can live with no spot lamps but a breakdown would piss me off.

That's really helpful and makes complete sense. I agree, I really don't want to risk compromising ignition circuit and why I don't want to break into anything unless i have to. The blade fuse with spur is an excellent idea! I've used those in cars fitting dash cams etc. That could provide the way forward. Again, thanks for responding.

If you can splash a pic up of the central spine there used to be a connection that was prewired for lighting on monolever bikes BUt I am not sure that they kept it for paralever

It should be the rearmost plug and a light blue colour IIRC

That blade fuse sounds great, might have a review of my setup if I get one, hopefully motor factors will have one.

Thanks. That's also really useful - as is your original post. I've got the power coming directly from the battery but the idea of taking the trigger from the coil is certainly possible as its accessible. Certainly agree with the tight space for adding stuff under the tank!

I'm sure either your's or Mikeyboy's suggestion will sort me out. Much obliged.
