Post purchase review from this LINK

Extralube ZX1 is a metal treatment to help reduce friction and uses the oil to be transported around. Had a good gossip with the company owner when I bought some products from them in Crowborough, East Sussex.

Bought the product a few weeks ago and after putting it in my 1150GS '02 ~38K miles, it has made the engine run smoother and quieter. I also added some to the fuel tank. I noticed that pickup is much easier when the engine is both cold and hot and has made me ride faster, sorry Officer. Probably 'cos I am looking for the usual engine note which is now further up the rev range.

I did ask one of the other Tosser's who bought some and he also had a smoother running engine and like me intends to purchase some more to put into our four wheel cages.

I also put some ZX1 into the gearbox and final drive but have not ridden the bike much since so cannot comment yet.

Whatever your thoughts are on snake oil, I can say that this product has worked. Will have to see what long term brings.

Mine is going into the engine on the next service (16th March), so I'll post up info on the visible differences...:D

Hi
Use this in my engine final drive and gearbox covered 28000 miles and no failures so does it or doesn't it help who knows but I must say it does make things smoother. Also it's great in the fuel.:beerjug:

Snake oil nothing more. The US courts have been full of these companies getting sued and shut down for years dura lube being a pretty famous one. That was the company that showed a treated engine being emptied of oil and ran for miles without damage. Trouble was when their trading standards tried it the engines went bang. All the owners of the wonder products swore that theirs worked but when tested in a lab they don't. Look up the car bible on the net and you will see the court cases there.
Another word of warning is about molybdenum additives. This stuff is microscopic super hard balls. Put that into the wrong situation and it will completely trash bearings. I have seen bearing that look like they have been shot peened after molybdenum was put in the oil.
Ask yourself this. Dealers and oil companies think nothing of charging you £50 for 4 litres of oil and people pay it. Don't you think if these additives were so good they would make a super duper GTI NITRO ZRRRZ oil and charge you for it? Instead many of them including BMW specifically stated not to use additives. Is it because the oil companies are incapable of making such a miracle lubricant or maybe it's because they either do nothing or actually cause damage?

My thought behind this is that we still need to use fuel injector cleaner even though the fuel companies add detergent, they could put this into the fuel at source and no one would have to buy any additives but they don't . They don't want it to last forever. But hey ho used it now for 4years with out any probs(may be the sudo effect) how ever there are three things I have noticed, how clean all of the engine components are (under heads) and the lack of valve clearance adjustment required and not having to top up between service. It's only 5% !!! Also I'm assured that it contains no particulates unlike moly or ptfe addatives. Proof of the pudding and all that!:Motomartin
