Eyes bigger than stomach or legs in my case!

I decided to get back on a GS and lo and behold a member of this forum had an immaculate 1150GSA for sale. So a Sunday morning drive into deepest Yorkshire sees me ride back home this beauty!

But I have admit that although its a great piece of kit it's rather tall for a person of medium sized legs and pensionable age.

So what do I do?
It really is probably the best kept bike I've owned for many a year especially as it's an 02. It's the first time I've felt intimidated by the height of a bike, even my previous 1200ADV didn't seem as tall.

Do I sell? And replace it with what?
Any ideas out there?

If you love it then there are two choices:

1. Learn to ride it (I have a 29" inseam and I manage)

2. Invest in a lowered seat & maybe lower the suspension. Wilburs will sort it out for you

It's not just the seat height with 1150Adv's - but the fact that when full of fuel they're really top heavy...

Pushing them around when loaded up can be nerve wracking

There isn't really any need to fill them up you know. Even in Morocco I was rarely 50 miles from a petrol station

Swap the seat and rear rack for a standard 1150 set up. Offer it as a swap in the wanted and for sale sections.

Swap to a lower BMW GSA seat

Buy a Corbin GSA Seat (lower still)

If all else fails, put 1150GS suspension and centre stand on it

She has a variety of very attractive high heels, but unfortunately I'm only allowed to use them at weekends.

You got on it, rode it home, and its still in one piece. Keep it and the more you ride the better it will feel.......Can't touch the floor on mine but what the hell.. I cant touch the floor on anything

Im the same, 5`7" about a 27-28" inside leg and have an 1100, when I first rode it it felt real weird but did 6000mile fully loaded and fueled up around Europe last year and only dropped it twice

You do get used to height, just do as I do and when you stop put one foot down like on a MotoX bike. Yeh id like to have both feet flat foot but what the hell, I love mine

I found my. 1150 very tall and top heavy when I first got it and wasn't very confident but as others have said ride it. I would give it six months and if not happy swap then. It looks really really clean and I'd be keen to keep it. As others have said there a host of things you can do to lower.
The shock swap takes two inches off i think and seats can be re worked to make lower if needed too.
I would give it longer before chopping just yet though?
