Great Weekend!!!

After a quick 3 hour apres night shift sleep on Friday, Joyce and I headed up to Ullapool for the weekend.
Fair bit of rain on the way up but dry in Ullapool. WE had a wee bimble up round Lochinver area on Saturday - dry all day:thumb
Got up this morning to beautiful sunshine for travelling home, so had a great run, Ullapool-Garve-Kinlochewe-Shieldaig-Applecross-Lochcarron-Invergarry-Laggan etc.
We were going to have a bite to eat at the Applecross Inn but it was a bit hectic - as usual, so went out to the Potting Shed in the walled garden just north of the village - only to find the Linda Jaxson Blues Band starting to play - superb!! So had a bite to eat and a glass o' wine in the garden wi' the sun beatin doon listening to great blues - magic:)
So, we get a lot of crap weather - but we also get some great weather and as long as you still have a bike, and still use it, you can still have some great days oot in places most of wouldn't bother goin tae in a tin box:rolleyes:

So keep the bike(s) Doyle, and make the best of it:comfort

Cheers.........................Grizzly:beerjug:

I like the rain

I like the rain. Means my bike doesn't look any dirtier than anyone elses. And those that like to keep them clean keep them indoors and out of sight!

Sounds like a crackin weekend Geo.... :thumb2

Up at the Hoos tomorrow, hope we get a few days with the current bun oot...

We should be able to sue the bastid weathermen.

I arranged my weekend around the weather forecast (given out on friday night).
Given that yesterday was going to be the only sunny/dry day of the BH weekend, I went out on the bike. Travelling back from the hills of N.yorkshire in the evening,(4pm) it fecking pissed it down. (Ok, 4pm may be technically not the "Day", but you get my drift !)
Foolish me, who listened to the idiots, didnt take my overtrousers.
Wet ? . Very !

Today, which was supposed to be the pits. Wet windy, and not a day for going out, and the worst day of the weekend.
Result . . . . Its dry and pretty sunny.

Given that im trying to keep that particular bike in mint condition, and hate cleaning bikes anyway, and it will now take days of fettling to get rid of the crap that the "monsoon" put onto the roads from the fields/hedgerows etc . . . . . . Can I sue the forecasters ????

Rant over !

Nah, this will be a Master 5 job if ever there was one. Might take the Vanson for cutting a dash down the pub though. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1346101552.920218.jpg

... Bonny Bonny scotland is it fuck from the inside of a steamed up visor.
I reckon that's one of the biggest problems - your visor. Everything seems crap with a steamed up visor - sort that out and the rain isn't that bad.

It will probably still piss down, but it just seems more bearable with a clear visor. :thumb2

Actually my visor was fine, pinlock did its job:thumb

It was the streams of water bringing gravel onto the road that had me nervous. You know i WAS on a road bike with road tyres not one of these rufty tufty adventure bikes!!.

I don't actually mind riding in the rain--------Just not everytime i go out:blast
