Whilst riding home from Abersoch on Sunday, over the mountains, I lost the actuator for the rear brake cylinder...the bit that connects the cylinder to the brake pedal. (some bugger lifted my fly rod from the bike while I was in a shop in Betwsy Coed too!!!)

My question is, is the brake cylinder the same on the Dakar, as the other 650 models? IE, can I use one from a funduro or a std GS/CS?

Any info would be most helpful, as I'm a tightwad, and don't want to buy a new BMW part (I have to save for a new backpacker fly rod)!

Thanks

Ian

Yeah...trouble is...my rear brake works (well "worked") just great...better than me sportsbikes, so don't really need to splash out for a master cylinder I don't need. Thanks for the info tho...if I ever need one, I've got it bookmarked :thumb:thumb I've enquired about the "unversal push rod kit" which is half the price of a BMW part!

RCMAD...cheers for the info...I can get around fine without the rear for a while, 'till I find a part...although was interesting loading up the front in the heavy rain today

If anyone knows anyone with a piston (that's what the part is actually called) please let me know....I called a dealer, and the price nearly knocked me off me feet...seriously ridulous:spitfire

I may just end up making one if I can't find something in a couple of weeks.
