Ok I have a slight problem, the pannier rack for my 2000 F650GS Single was on my brothers old GS which he managed to write off.
Now I think the frame was tossed out (rummaged this aft and its not in the garage).
I was looking about and I've seen some 1150GS pannier racks people have build themselves, but I've not found any for a 650GS single.
I did considered buying new/fleabay but seeing some of the 1150 projects, decided it would be more fun to build them myself so I can customise them etc, and have my mate weld the joins.
I'm using the original BMW panniers for the bike so I'm going to make the two braced square frames to measure for those (I have a fair bit of steel tubing to play with (square tube and round tube)) so the only cost should be my time / any special fixings I need fabricating...
I would however like some measurements for the strengthening bar (under seat/tail) and frame mounting so I don't build too wide or too narrow.
I know I could measure it all up, but I don't want to f*ck things up if I can help it so having two sets of measurements will be much safer.
Anyone able to help out?
