May be interested in one of these if I can find a low mileage minter
Already have R1200r but quite fancy a smaller bike as well
Prefer mint, fsh low mileage bike
Happy to wait for the right one !

Goat I have owned both F650 and the F700gs. Of the two I would recommend a F700. The fuelling is better, twin disk up front and a better suspension set up. I still have my F700. The engines are identical with the 700 being tuned for a further 5 bhp ish more.

I had a 650 as a commuter for a few years, great bike for that purpose. Also ridden a 700 and didn't feel any different other than the brakes which were a definite improvement. Newer usually better though so would say go for 700 if you can find one.

Ash one of the older members on here ( doesnt post much now) had two or three F650’s then one or two F700’s . He liked 800 twins!

He once posted a side by side comparison of the fork springs in a F650/700. The 700’s appeared to be longer, but I think its because they had more turns. I spent a grand upgrading the suspension on my 08 F650 roughly £300 front balance rear. The difference was night and day, as the old F650 (20,000 miles) would dive if you touched the front brake.

I always said forks would be my first upgrade in the future. However the F700 feels different up front, maybe its the fork springing? Either bike is a great option and will feel as light as a moped compared to your R1200R

I’ll be selling an 800GS shortly with a lot of extras on it, just in case it is of interest. It includes two seats, one lower.
