F750GS or stick with the older ones?

I thought the 750 and the 800 were basically the same bike but with a bit of a HP difference? I know a lot of the 750s I'm looking at all have ESA, rider modes, cruise control, and all the bits?

The worry I have is basically buying one sight unseen and without a test ride. State of dealers over here...
