Hi,

in the run up to the first service (scheduled for Sat). Have noticed the biting point is virtually at the end of the lever travel so it's more like a switch than it is progressive.

Will mention it to them on Sat but was wondering if that is a common set-up.

Do it yerself, bud. It's just a little twisty bit to play about with and I'm sure it'lll sort your problem out.

I've only got stubby little badger-type digits, so I've got mine wound all the way in to compensate.

I had this problem, it meant that if I gave it a squirt at around 6500 revs in 6th the clutch would slip, problem I had is that I didn't have any play in the clutch adjuster bolt to be able to resolve the problem.

My dealer did a bit of a quick fix by changing the clutch adjuster bolt assembly to give a couple mm of play in the cable. Definitely work getting your dealer to look at it.

I've no idea, but I also can't see how you can break something by adjusting the clutch cable...

It's just me I'm sure. :)

Hi all,

thanks for the help and suggestions.

Not sure that I said I wasn't capable,I guess I could have a tinker myself but doesn't seem necessary given that the bike is at the dealers on Sat. It's helpful to know that it can be easily adjusted tho.

I really shouldn't post things when I'm pissed....

Adjusting the span of the clutch lever really doesn't make that much difference to where the biting point is.:blast

I've been out on the 800 today and realised the 'action' is still almost immediate when pulling the clutch lever in.

Off on a slight tangent here but have to ask. anybody have an excessive rattle from the clutch just on the bite point?? no slipping or snatching just a really loud rattle. i am mechanically minded and keep thinking of stripping it down however the bike only has 1500miles on it and if its not the norm then the dealer can sort her out! 800gs by the way.

No I don't, and I've got 10,000 miles on mine. In a year.

I would certainly be sending it to a dealer if there's things inside which are causing concern.
