Folks im after a bit of advice re the above .The owners manual says 16 litres useable and 4 on reserve. Forgive my thickness , so is that 20litres all told. Fuelled up today showing 207 miles bike took 15.8 litres to fill it. Would i then have 4 litres left or is that included in the above figure?
Confused yet cos I am. What mileage's are you chaps/chapesses getting out of yours. Cheers in advance :)

I was under the impression it was 17 litres. I never looked at the owners manual with regard to fuel capacity but there is no reserve tank to switch to when it splutters. It's 17 and then it runs out. That was my experience anyway. 17 would be to the brim.

Cheers chaps. 15.8 was quite close to running out then me thinks :(

124.9 per litre

It's 113.9 near me.

That'll be the North/South divide rearing it's ugly head again.

That was in the Midlands (Warwick), but it was at the M40 services a couple of months ago hence the crazy price!

17L. I've attached a couple of tool tubes to the rear rails with a litre sigg in each and a 2L reserve can on an aluminium plate on the inside of my pannier rail. So I'm up to 21L for my trip, which should hopefully deliver a 250 mile range if I'm not ragging it, and it's enough extra to not really notice it. I see loads of US lads on the ADV rider fitting these TT tanks and can't fathom it at all. Must've more money than sense on that side of the pond

Cheers Mick. Had a good blast today, Helmsley, Pickering etc. Fuelled upin Ponty as i didnt think id make it home :)

When, Simon, in all honesty, have you ever NOT"ragged" it?

I think my record was 17.63 litres and I think the real remaining range was probably about 20 metres.

amazing fuel

last weekend on a trip to the lakes with a few guys from the north west section i got to 234 miles with 28 left to go. this was nice easy riding but lots of low gear stuff and a few quick blasts. so i make the total 262 miles out of the tank. i have had this range a few times before and taken it down to showing 1 mile left on the onboard computer.:pullface
800gs by the way with super unleaded

You'll be OK when we go away then Steve. :D

We'll be stopping at (maximum) 150 mile intervals, ideally 100 miles.

My 1200 GS warns me at around 175 miles to start looking for fuel.

When I last went to (where we're going next month) :thumb the road captain stated 'fill-up at Dover'. I stayed overnight in Faversham & filled up there (about 20 miles away) & assumed that'd be OK. The following day I had to nurse the bike to a petol station & filled up with 2 miles showing on my reserve countdown. :bow

I carry a fuel can now! :D

Sounds good to me Phil, i might carry some spare fuel just incase. Nowt worse than the tank range showing zero and still having no garage in sight :)
