Am collecting my F800GS next weekend in a SWB Transit and have some options as to size of transit to take ........ so I particularly need to have an accurate height measurement. Could some kind soul out there, pop out to the garage at some point, and take a quick measurement for me? The result will determine the size of van I need to be taking.

BMW Motorrad give the height of the bike (excluding mirrors) as 1350 mm / 55 inches.
I'm assuming that is for the bike planted on the road?

By how much would the height increase when it's up on the centre stand, (excluding the mirrors)?

Also I'm assuming / hoping it's a fairly quick job to remove the fitted high screen / and mirrors. Can someone confirm /or deny?

Any and all assistance very much appreciated :thumb

When on the center stand the brake reservoir is the highest piece. It rises about 56.5 inches (1435mm) off the ground.

Not sure how you'd go about fiddling with it to make the overall height lower.

Hi Flagger .......... thanks for that :thumb2 how's things in Ohio?

Your measurement sounds to be about right with the bike on the stand. To be quite clear ...... are you saying that the highest point is to the top of the brake reservoir @ 1435mm. I presume this measurement assumes that the stock screen and mirrors have been previously removed? :nenau

Yes, that is the top of the reservoir. The stock screen was still on the bike (the reservoir is taller) and I ignored the mirrors.

And it's rainy here in Ohio. Cold, too. Sucks.

1560mm to the top of the offside mirror with bike on centre stand, steering lock on. Screen attached.
