Hi Guys,

Has anyone got any recommendations for a decent set of crash bars for the F800. I'm looking for more protection than the Touratech ones offer...just have not seen much around?

Thanks in advance

James

I've got the Wunderlich adventure bars. I like the way look on the bike and they also give good coverage - in a spill they stick out enough to protect legs and also enough to rest feet on instead of highway pegs. Tested them at low speeds and they're unharmed except for some scrapes that Hammerite covers nicely. I think they were from nippy's and easy to.fit.

Best of luck,

S

I have Givi bars on mine, I bought them as I liked the look and felt they would offer good protection, and they do, I dropped the bike in a Cornish car park and no damage done. :thumb2

I have Givi and they're pretty good but I will be upgrading to Wild@Heart at some point. Others worth considering are the Metal Mule and Adventure Spec ones. SW Motech's are quite popular but they're not my cup of tea.

Holan

got these and rate them :thumb2

from the website:

crashbars for F800GS

HOLAN's product

Focus on effective protection of the engine, side plastic panels and indirectly of radiator.

•This crash bar is constructed to fit the BMW F800GS perfectly with all curves of the crash bars parallel to the line of the motorbike
•In the lower section, the crash bar is attached to the motorbike via a special fastening system (included) where during a crash the force is carried to linking screws not directly to the block of the engine
•The upper portion is designed to be highly impact resilient specifically so that it will not cave into the plastic
•Extremely tight tolerances and straightforward attachment to the factory provided mounting points make for an easy installation
•Works in conjunction with nearly all bash plates on the market (BMW, SW-Motech, Wunderlich, Wild@Heart, etc.)
•Does not work with Adventure-Spec bashplate
•Powder coated black and made from 22x2mm and 18x2mm steel tubing

UK supplier is the excellent Roger of ARD cases fame

and only 160 Euro.

SW Motech for me. Ive dropped the bike a few times on both sides and did exactly what they were meant to do
