f800gs rocker cover gasket

Noticed a slight leak in the rocker cover gasket on the 800, I know it's a common issue so I've ordered the new gaskets, what's the best sealant to use on the gasket ? I've read many topics on it that people have used sealant on the new gaskets ?

I have some rtv gasket silicone is that suitable or anything I can buy from say Halfords etc ?

did a bit of mechanics when i was younger,we always used hylomar universal blue

Cheers blag I just used the rtv in the end (very small amount)
