Seen an F800GS in a salvage yard, being sold a damaged/repairable.
Has any of you tossers got history on this bike?
I believe it has broken the top yoke, possible bent fork legs and the front wheel has a huge bend in the rim. Also the headlight and surrounding assembly looks like it has taken impact.
Any info on the bike wil be gratefully received.

I obtained an R800 for spares when I was running an old R800ST. I only ever needed a few odd bits and when I went to the spare bike the same components were worn as bad, It just took up valuable space in my garage.

Its probably not worth buying to put back on the road either, the cost of spares is so high a set of forks and a front wheel will probably cost the same as a good s/hand bike.

Somebody is splitting a GS800 on e-bay, I have watched a few items sell and I suspect the vendor is a bit dismayed at the low prices he is getting. Deal of the moment is a set of Gray body panels with slight scratching £45.00, ends Monday night. The high touring screen with a small scratch, sold for £16.00

Hi Timpo,

don't know owt about the bike, but by the damage it sounds like it may have been used at the ADV rally in Sept:D:rolleyes:

I have to say that if you're half handy with a set of spanners, this doesn't sound like too much of a problem ...

There was a full front end for a 640ADV on Ebay a few days ago, with a bit of thought it could have been made to fit ...

How much was the whole bike from Salvage?

G
