My bike is a 2006 F800S with 50,000 miles. I'm guessing it's the same engine more or less as the GS version.
It ran when I bought it a few months back but now the starter motor turns but not the engine.
I have a replacement starter clutch, or "one way bearing" as the parts guy called it and I'm trying to remove the stator retaining bolt with my impact wrench but it won't budge. I have the pressure on the compressor wound up but am wondering if it's a "bass ackwards" thread?
Any one know if it has to turn anti clock to unscrew? or visa versa?
Also any tips for pulling the stator once the cap head retaining bolt is finally off? Looks like there are three threaded holes around the inner face of the stator and I'm wondering if these are to facilitate removal by winding bolts in against the inner cases. Any tips or advice would be most welcome.
thanks
Millard
ps
As you've guessed I don't have a manual yet
