Now this might appear a silly question, so sorry if it is. I have discovered a plastic clip inside the front right hand side fairing. I have searched everywhere and find out what it is for.

Can anyone shed some light on this please.?

Yes, an emissions thing in the states with the venting of the fuel tank I believe. Handy storage for your oil, or stash. What oil? Any as long as it is oily. Nippy does a holder but just go down to your local shop and search for a small aluminium water bottle (500ml to 750ml I think) with an airtight seal. Fits prefect, then just order the strap from Nippy.

Well thanks folks, that clears that one up. And, as suggested, I will now put it to good use for carrying oil on my next Pyrenees trip. As it was I needed to get oil after 2500miles and only needed about 500ml, resulting in throwing the rest away(no room to carry it) and a subsequent oil change on my return as it was a cheap semi oil.

There is nothing like 3 weeks in mostly 1st 2nd and 3rd, 2up with luggage for burning oil!!! - but it's what the bike was meant for.

My brothers GSA was recently leaking oil over the left hand exhaust. It turned out to be the never needed spare oil can in the carbon canister sot under the RHS of the petrol tank. It's another farkle the bike was festooned with Who knows why the oil ended up where it did.

Point is that slot easily holds 1 litre so after topping up stash the part used bottle in there.
