Have any forum members got this Tank bag? Is it any good?

There is one for sale on ebay and I'm seriously tempted.

Yup, I've got one & I recon it's OK.

I've used it for a 400 mile rideout to The Lakes, earlier this year 1500 miles around The Highlands & last year Rome & back via The Alps.

No marks whatsoever left on my paintwork. :thumb2

I used one on an F650GS twin and it seriously marked the paintwork, so make sure you use something like wonderweb underneath to prevent damage. Also it's a bit invasive if you are standing up offroad but if you shift it forward it interferes with the turning circle.

The Wunderlich tankbag I bought is a very secure fit, not too big at normal size but when expanded is big enough for a full face helmet. Also, comes with clear protective film to cover the plastic tank area to prevent paint abrasion which seems to be doing the job very well. The bag itself seems very well made with strong zips and stitching. It also seems to be pretty much water proof so far too. All in all, I'm very pleased with it indeed.

+1:clap got mine from Nippy Normans

I,ve got the famsa bag, It's the second one I've had (the other was on a gs12), they are a top bit of kit, the only problem I've had is that the bottom straps can mark the frame paint but you can stick that clear plastic film on to avoid this and also put good resin polish on the tank before fitting the harness if you are worried about the paintwork

Hi I have just bought one of these famsa tank bags and I am trying to fit it to my 07 GSA and it seems that the straps at the back donot go down onto the batery holder bracket thingy (like they do in the first pic on here but they seem to go down the sides of the tank, so where would these attach too?? the frame?? also it seems like i will have to push the handle bars forwards sooo much unless I take off the cross bar on the handle bars, is this correct???

+1 needs something under it to stop it marking the tank

If you like that bag, check out the Bags Connection model that is almost the same as far as specs go, I believe.
I got the Bags Connection one to upgrade from the smaller Recon 11 I was using. It is non-invasive, it zips to the mounting pad and the pad and bag are both easy to remove or just unzip the bag from the mounting pad to take it with you. They provide you with a couple of covers for the bag and two sheets of clear plastic hydrostatic mylar that protects your finish. I went mylar free on my F650 and don't have any issues in 6 months use under widely varying conditions and somewhat lazy approach I have to cleaning my bike.

I really like it. You can remove the two small side panels and sneak the regular straps with the small plastic connectors on the end and it is less of the garter belt Borat look. The bag at normal size and not zipped to expand can hold two 600 ml water bottles, my comprehensive tool kit, tire pump, camera, extra thermal shirt, my jacket liner, side stand foot plastic support plate, extension for inflating tires, bag of cookies, sunglasses, cel phone, etc... The outside pockets are good for maps, toll change, first aid items, etc... It zips on and off the large pad, it does not move around very much and takes about five seconds to remove the pad when washing the bike. It is very solid, but you will need to carry one of the supplied rain covers with the bag, though I have found that if it does get wet it dries super fast and the contents don't really get soaked. What I like is that I can easily take it with me at a lunch stop and nobody ever messes with the pad that it zips to.

+1 for the Wunderlich bag, I found it to be very versatile, has a secure fixing to the bike, quick release and attach. The LH sidepocket has a usefull card pocket, that's handy when you stop at toll roads, filling stations etc.with gloves on.
Bag comes with two clip-on straps, can use with one, to carry over the shoulder or with two , as a backpack.
I'm very happy with it :D
