Has anyone on the forum any experience with the Famsa tank bag and tank panniers, this year I used a set of adapted bicycle panniers and the BMW tank bag.
I was wondering as to how waterproof the Famsa gear is and as to whether they move about at speed. The problem with the home made ones was that they slipped bag onto my knees at speed.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Not waterproof but the tank bag has a cover, i have just put a can of NikWax
tent proofer on them to try and keep the water out. ;) They do not move around on the 1200 but it does give a bit of a weave at around 40mph, helps to keep the rain off your legs too :D I only put the tent/fly sheet in the diddy side bags one bit in each. OH! i think it was the zips that let the most water in so i hit them hard with the NikWax.

Thanks for the info, roughly what size are the side panniers . i.e. in real money what can you get into them ?

I think it said 8lts each if that means out :( they are ( about ) 1foot high
10inch wide and 4inch deep these are approx cos of the shape of them.
As i said ( i think ) i put my tent in one and the fly sheet in the other. The backing is a soft-ish rubbery stuff so as not to scratch the pannels.
