anyone recommend a good 250 to use, which is cheaper to repair than a gs!!
yamaha wr 250??
suzuki rm250
honda crf 250
what do you reckon??

WR250F = great bike, pokey motor for it's size!

TTR250 = great for beginners but flat as a fart!

CRF's = again great bike, quick and competent. Will do better under someone who knows the score though! Make sure you get the 'F' version as this has lights, lekkie start and a wide ratio box!!!!

DR400E = probably not as pokey as the WR250F/CRF and probably cheaper. Can be picked up for good money too. Not in the same league as the WR and CRF 400's, so don't discard the idea of a 400!

XR400 = great bike for beginners and experienced riders alike. Relaible, bomb proof and cheap to run!

In fact, forget the 250 and buy a 400, you know it makes sense!

Gasser 250, 300

Id go for a gasser stroker anytime. Virtually indistructable. had a 300 for 3 years raced or trailed ever weekend, only ever let me down once when it broke a reed, changed the rings and clutch after 2 years coz i reconed it could do with it. awsome bit of kit. never discount a good stroker.

My WR250F is the best pure dirt bike i've had. They can be had for £ 3300 new ! ('05 model) Bargain ! :thumb
