A while back a couple of friends and I decided to visit one of our favourite campsites for one of their legendary Jager Schnitzel's
The Crew
Me on my '02 1150 GS
Dick (master navigator of the twisty little roads) on a Honda St1100 Pan
Brian (doesn't do modern) '51 Vincent Rapide
We left Dover on the 0800 ferry on Friday 23rd with the intention of making it to the Mosel river at Remich, where we stayed at http://www.mosel-camping.de/
A quick walk into town led to a swift drink and an excelent meal at a cafe on the main square
Saturday dawned with brilliant sunshine and the prospect of a nice slow ride down the banks of the Mosel to Winningen and our Jager Schnitzel. We only covered approx 100 miles but had an excelent ride along the river to http://www.mosel-camping.com/
Sunday was again bright but cold, and we started the long and winding road back towards the coast, but as we found so many lovely winding roads (the B410 was closed so had a winding detour through many small villages and valleys) from Winningen via Luxemberg to the Belgian town of Houffalize and stayed at http://www.cpbuitensport.com/camping.html
Monday dawned misty and cold and the final camp teardown, with time short and at least 220 miles back to Dunkirk it was decided to use more main roads so that we ould have coffee in the square at Ypres.
We docked back at Dover at 1910 on Monday evening and by the time I had got home 1050 miles had passed.....
