Fancy a week or so's trail riding in Japan?

Interested in having a ride out in Japan?
Perhaps not the most usual adventure bike destination but a fabulous motorcycling destination. A fascinating mix of urban madness and spectacular rural tranquility. I'm looking at putting a adventure trip there for 2011 riding 250 trail bikes and doing as much off road as possible with as much culture and culinary adventure as people want.

Trail riding in Japan

Plan is to fly to Osaka and get rented TTR250/XR250's from Wakayama (one hour south of Osaka). Beautiful area with loads of lanes and twisty mountain roads which are a scream on little bikes. There is also lots of cultural stuff/old Japan in the Kii Peninsular:

Also you've got the longest trails in Japan just over the water in Tokushima on Shikoku. Was planning to do these lanes as part of a trip down to Kyushsu to do the volcanos, hot springs and tremendous mountain trails.

I lived in Japan for many years and as a fluent speaker have been doing these trips over the years and just love riding in Japan as its such a great trip. Never done bike trips commercially and am now throwing the idea open to see if there's any interest for a at cost tour, looking to do a trip in either late spring to see the cherry blossom or September of 2011.

Have done Hokkaido in the past and although it is good its a long way to go and makes logistics harder with a lot longer to ride between entertainment.

I was thinking of Wakkanai point in Hokkaido when I saw the website, my brother in law lives in tokushima and I'm from near kochi, I've got a connection with TBI tours "Tour Blue Island- Japan"

I'd aiming to do the spring trip but it's all in the air at the moment awaiting some results of things to see how I'm gonna plan my 2011.

Don't have a price yet, awaiting the bike shop getting quotes on insurance etc. Its roughly £700 to get there and idea is you'd sort out that bit. I'd then organise accomodation, bikes and guides. Trying to keep costs down in Japan is clearly a challenge, depends on kind of accomodation you want? Aiming at approx £2,500 excluding flights.
