trail riding in france for a week where ?

id like to head off to france /alps /pyrenees for a week trail riding, id like to be off road for the whole week. wildish camping or not .
infact it doesnt even have to be the pyrenees ,just france will do .
going to start doing some research soon ,but just thought id ask here first ,if any bodys done this yet .
any reccomendations will be really helpfull .

Bearn Moto in Pau are always sending me stuff about off-roading holidays in the Pyrenees, but it probably isn't what you had in mind. Might be worth contacting them though.

Just ride outta the Tunnel, set the Garmin to 'smallest roads' & 'shortest route' & to not avoid offroad...

Take some time & read the map & with a bit of luck you'll find some trails (as well as roads of course)

It'd be an adventure...

Sounds great, but in a week that would necesitate taking the Boat... to have a good amount of time in Northern Spain.

KTM Dakar team training camp was (is?) just South of Narbonne. We discovered the trails there back in 2008. We had a villa in Montseret and rode the local trails in the morning then hung out with the family in the afternoons. From the villa it was under two minutes to the nearest trail from which you could ride all day off road if you chose.

ill be heading for narbonne ?where ever it is ,i dont have any plan as such, just would like to do a bit of OFF ROADING (fast show),and a birt of wild (ish ) camping if poss.

I've got a mate who has set up a B+B about an hour south of Limoges, in the Correze region, which if you only have a week might be a better proposition? you'll loose at least 2-3 days just travelling down to the pyrenees and back

he's a keen dirt biker (and also has some classic brit iron to), and very hospitable.

Pinkytiff and myself spent a week or so with him last year on the way to and from the HUMM. There is a fantastic mix of trails, and it is the same area where they run the "Giles de lalay" classic enduro, so plenty of challenging bits if you know where to look!

i was going to get the ferry to santander/ish ,and then spend a week riding , ill have a look at NAVVARA ,in spain as twizzle suggests, and allso put it to the others ,who might come with me .
i would like to wild(ish) camp ,if i can go lightweight (apart from my body )no chairs or anything this time (maybe a small one ,its me back dont you know).
but ill allso check out the B+B option as well.
