FAO iow bikers or those visiting

Cheers for the info:thumb2

I was wondering if half these crackdowns arn't just a cheap way of getting us to behave, it must cost little for the press office to produce a few press releases every month, i wonder if any actually ever take place?

Drove out, yes I did say drove as had to take nipper and his mrs out that way and came back along the Military Rd, lots of bikers campin out on one of the camp sites along there and a good few on the roads, expected to see at least one jam sandwich parked up but didnt see one but a couple of sad reminders along there :(

Police in Skodas.......someone wake me, it's a dream....no just a flashback to the 70's, I remember when a good old Rover was the tool of choice, now it's the choice of tools you might say. :D

Don't laugh but the Skoda is tool of choice down here in Devon..
VRS [Audi A4 quatro @ half price ] 3 of them on Motorways unmarked
Skoda 150 hp Octavia estates as general patrol vehicles.
Plus in Exeter city Paramedic and police quick response VRS's.
Apparently they are the most reliable vehicles they've had for years :thumb2
The Focus and Sierra TDI's being nothing but trouble with ECU and dual mass flywheel failures :( amongst other faults..

Nick said apparently yesterday (Tuesday) there were police set up everywhere catching people out on the iow, looks as though its happening all over the uk atm :nenau

It's just getting a little silly......

Just chose your play routes carefully......explore some new routes...

That's exactly what I've been doing and have found some really nice twisties to play on......away from the usual traps...:bounce1

You are probably limited though on the Isle of Wight with just the two roads...

SCOOTERISTS`S FREE MUSIC FESTIVAL
By Richard Wright - Thursday, May 15, 2008
A FREE August Bank Holiday festival looks set to get the go-ahead.
The festival, planned for Ryde seafront’s Western Gardens, is to entertain the thousands of scooterists, who come to the town over the bank holiday.
But organisers said the event would provide entertainment for other visitors and residents too.
Originally, they planned the event for the town’s Eastern Gardens but that plan drew objections, including those from the Ryde Town Council’s predecessor organisation, Ryde Town Management Committee.
The town council decided on Monday organisers had met early concerns for the festival planned to provide entertainment between noon and 10pm.
Lazy Afternoon is being organised by a consortium, including Stuart Benton, of the Liquid Lounge Bar, Ryde.
Mr Benton told the meeting the festival was being organised to complement other bank holiday entertainment in the town on an area that was the traditional gathering place of scooterists during their rallies.
If the IW Council grants an alcohol and entertainment licence, it will supersede the order preventing drinking in public in that area.

I was one of those camped there, at the rally near the petrol station. I avoided all possible speed traps by using your islands lovely green lanes to get about. You live in a nice location.
