Farkle development including the front crud

or come up and see me and I`ll do it for wine...............

But TBH you should have a local company who can do it

Thanks Mark, I might take you up on that in the next couple of weeks as I am passing by on my way up north. :thumby:
I'll see what BMW try to sting me for the job tomorrow.

Yes they might be the best guys for the job (not that I can`t do it) but see how kind they are to you eh?

In the past I've found myself elbows deep in a job I'm incapable of completing.

These days if I'm unsure I go to the experts and I'm happy to shell out the cash. In the long run and in the interests of a stress free life, it's worth it!

That's me that is! :augie

Pannier Racks Poor Quality.....NOT!!

Mark,

Pannier Racks arrived this morning, have to say if they are your excuse for shoddy work and low quality, what must your good stuff be like?

Her indoors has had all on to stop them being screwed up in the living room :bounce1

Very Nice Job and worth every Penny! thanks again.

Wow, seriously, that's really kind of you and very humbling, I really don`t deserve it - I nearly didn`t make them because of how the lads might have received something which I hadn`t tried my best on and had tried to make as cheaply as possible.

Thank you for your kind words - you are the first person to have received them (sorry benhur, yours are in my garage......) and thankfully they seem to be well received but do they work?

in black

as requested guys here is the deflector in black. Still stainless steel underneath so if it does chip it shouldn`t rust.

And yes you were all right - it does look nice :bounce1

Right, where's mine?:P Next week is fine mate, but please remember to send a plain one, I don't want the gladiator in the corner.:D

Ha, so no `Trojan - the condom of Sparta`logo for you mate? :D

But seriously, I will of course make you a `special` without it on - just order as normal and hope to f*ck I can remain sober enough over the weekend to remember (but if I don`t I`d always make another one).

I don`t do `mass production` (mebbe I should..................) and I`m hoping to make 2 tomorrow (the only other one is fitted to my bike and I suspect staying there) so I`ll try to remember to remove the logo pal.

Same for me please plain black no emblem :beerjug:

Ok, thank you but I`m still only making 2 so if I`m lucky enough to sell a third its going to have to be made to order sometime soooooon.

Btw, and I can`t do anything about this guys, I am beholdant (made up word as far as spelling goes) to the powder coaters as to when they can do them - seemingly I`m not a very good commercial proposition..............

yep no problem, I`ll be pleased to do that for you, thank you for your kind order!

just for the record, and I`m sure you already realise, but the deflector I will make for you in the morning (hangover allowing) is just made for YOU, nobody else, not to go on a shelf, not mass produced, nada, nothing - made for you by me with a lifetime guarantee - it fails while you are alive and I make another one. Period.

I`ve seriously thought about going `commercial` with my stuff and the only exception I have made is to make stuff for Mr Norman Birtles because he is a good man with a good reputation - yet this still means I make stuff for the client which I have no direct connection with. Nonetheless and because of his reputation this is the only exception. Even then the supplies are severely restricted because I think that as soon as I go to mass production methods (I do it all bloody day for my day job) I will lose the reason why I do it - yes I get paid very well for my work (thanks to everyone who has supported me) but if I did it on a commercial basis I`d be bust in a month. making 2 deflectors worth about £50-ish on a Saturday morning, badly hungover, does not pay for a 1/4 million pound laser profiling system let alone everything else but what it does do is allow me to indulge myself in something I feel so passionate about and that's stuff which is appreciated by good people.

I am sooooo bloody lucky to have some good people buy my stuff and long may it continue and as I`ve often said giants like touratech would be wise to just for once drop the commercial bollocks and making stuff they feel individually proud of making and accepting individual responsibility for. To be fair they have a business to run but the customer service and lead time horror stories really do make me think `for gods sake lads its not all about the money`

jeeeeeeeeeez I`m sorry I`ve had too much wine and I`ve had a bit of a rant.

A very polite rant.

So my pannier rack thingies are in your garage, dare I ask how progress is going with my deflector?

I think I might have to play the "how many bottles of wine can a GS carry."

Although you aren't doing this as a commercial operation, profit is not a dirty word you know! There again nor is breaking even...

I will hopefully pop up next week to pick a few bits up - please note that I haven't even mentioned the air intake guards.

I am getting as bad as Nutty!

Enjoy your wine laden weekend.
