Farkle development including the front crud

I see matey peeps. Well, I will take a look at it as soon as I can - I'm no lazy bugger but please bear with me as I have a full on day job and I can't rush what I do for fear of screwing it up. A bit like your stealer.......
No worries Marc. This afternoon will be fine !!!!!. Just kiddin (::)..........:beerjug::beer:

I would say they are not tall enough.

On my LC the crud is splattered at least half way up the front cover.

That's what I was thinking, although I don't own an LC and am unlikely to for many years.

Mark, you need to ride yours through LOADS of muddy crap and shite to see how far up the front cover it goes :D:D:D

Guys, already over a dozen of the `brethren` have been kind enough to `pre` order the front crud off me for the new LC - seriously, its a bit humbling :bow considering that until Friday I didn`t even have an LC!

Anyway, she got collected on Friday, garaged straight away as I had a family weekend away. Got back last night and have spent a very long day fooling around looking at designs. I`ve only done 41 miles on her and yes the new LC seems a lovely improved bike! Not too sure about some of the changes though..............(mebbe for later...).

Anyway, the reason for the new thread is to get some input - I`m not too far up my own chuff to think I know it all (you wanna have an IQ in single figures....) and I`ve been humbled with all the positive suggestions people have taken the time to make which has helped me make lovely stuff appreciated by nearly everyone :bow

So, take a look at the images and see what you think - I was undecided on the final prototype so I made 3. One is a `touring` version (god knows why I called it that) which gives more protection, another is a `sports` version (another `no idea` on why I called it that) and finally, the one I like and have left on my LC is the `slim` sports version! They all do the same job, protecting the very bottom of the engine from grit blasting then consequent rotting but I do like the smaller one...............

I`ve tried to get some `style` into the item (this time.....) yet try to retain the practical job it has to do. Apart from the shape etc I`m keen to hear what people have got to say about the `LC` logo laser etched on the `touring` :nenau

All of them are attached using very high quality stainless fasteners and hand finished thick stainless tube for spacers (which is a ball ache to cut, drill and deburr)

This ISNT a selling thread (that will appropriately appear elsewhere and once I have listened to all kind opinions) and I hope to post more items for improvement as time goes by).

So, let me know what you think, all I am after is a final item which we, as bikers, isn`t stack `em high sell `em cheap mass produced crap and does a good job :thumby:

By the way the `sports` one does extend down over the gap between the sump guard and the `slim sports` one - you can see the extra material in the `all three` image.

Well i like the sport one with a LC logo. Please let me know when it is available

What about a way of raising the satnav out of the way of the rev counter.
I am only 5'10" and it obscures the dial from 4 thou to 8 thou.
Or is there a reason for such a design? It can't just be me again.

Mark, looking at the throw off from the wheel on the front of my engine, the tourer version of the catcher might be better if it did not have the dip between the top 2 screws :nenau :nenau

Revision 2!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whaddya think?

These are revision 2 on both the touring and the sports - as you can see I have extended both in the upwards direction - I have taken note of the kind suggestions regarding `angles` and redesigned accordningly.

btw I have also added GSLC as suggested.............

Are these better guys? Answers on a postcard..... or posted here!

Would go along with that, though not sure how it would look.

I have added a couple of pictures of my crud after a days commuting in case that helps. As you can see the crud does go a long way up!

Fantastic, they look great!!

Like the laser logo's

Postcard from Collingham.

I like both designs they look really good but touring gives the best protection.

Yep touring for me please when can I collect from sunny scunny ?

The new Touring looks good Mark:thumb I'm still not sold on the etching, so if its cheaper without, I'll have a plain one:D:beerjug:

Oh yeah

Well guys - the power of opinion. (methinks BMW & TT would be well advised to listen to us bikers............) :augie

Anyway - you asked for a more angular design - hope Rev 2 is ok! :bounce1
- you asked for a higher crud - hope Rev 2 is ok! :bounce1
- you asked for GSLC as the logo - hope Rev 2 is ok! :bounce1

IMHO I still prefer the `sports` version but your collective views make more sense for the touring one.

All I need to do now is spend some time testing both on the bike and we may have something made by a biker and re-designed by other bikers :clap

And yeah, the angular type does look better................:bow

Dunno pal - I need to test them for a wee while, see if I can spot any negatives....................

Happy to come over and fit one to my bike at my risk that way you will get more test mileage and an independent opinion on function and performance.

+1, but you'd have to send it to me as I'm a little further away, but happy to test for you Mark:thumb:beerjug:

Guys, when I think I have incorporated all your sensible modifications I will be putting them up for sale but not on this thread - this is simply to ask people what they think so I stand a better chance of making something most Fellow Tossers think is good.

I will post it when i do put them up for sale and they will be via my normal site at www.cymarcbikeparts.co.uk but with your kind help i sense that i might not be far off.........

Thank you to all, I really appreciate your input :clap:clap:clap:clap
