Aaaarr! Yerrs I see now, I didn't realise those rakes were attached to the discs, which are driven by the "first generation monolever." gearing. That'll be pre Massey-Furguson PTO design (I'm guessing!) i.e self driven. It's like a pair of big yard brooms

What oil do you put in it?

I rub in some beef drippin or a bit of neat lanolin every now and then. No oil, it's air cooled.
