Fast internet browser recommendations

Hi all

I am now really fed up with Internet explorer being so slow and crappy. Can anyone recommend any other browsers which may work faster. I have tried Mozilla Firefox, but didn't find it much better.

I have also used TCP Optimizer to try and improve my browser speed, and it works for a short while.

Any help / suggestions for better, faster browsers, or other ways to speed up would be great

Oh, and the suggestion about upgrading to a Mac can be held onto for now!!!! I'm skint and have to stick with what I have for now - An Acer laptop, which I'm actually pretty happy with.

I was going to recommend a Mac....but Acer's are really nice laptops...

Have you given your IE a thorough houseclean, tidied up the PC etc (delete cookies and any other junk). Have you run any security software to see if spyware is slowing you down etc

Basically give the machine a thorough MOT first....

Check back through this section and there are some threads on tweaks and hacks for Firefox that do actually work.....but as Steve said, it's not likely to be your browser but your settings, virtual memory, disc fragmentation or something else.

Regardless, it's still worth getting rid of that bloated Bill Gates crap browser
