My old technology airhead skills are very rusty, so back on an airhead and a few problems to resolve, the annoying one at moment is a high tickover 2500 revs after a high speed run, put a bit of load on the engine with clutch and it slowes down, what would cause this or where should I look first please?

TIA

What years the bike?

Could be a sticking advance/retard unit in the bean can if it's a post 81

Could also be a mixture issue. Have you set the tickover screws to peak rpm at tickover?

Could also be an airleak on the at the carb rubber.

Hi Rob
Yes in my haste I missed some vital info, tis a r65, 81.
Pretty sure there are no air leaks will recheck mixture screw as well, and report back
thx

Mixture can play a huge part, had same probs on two of mine sorted by making mixture a tad richer:thumb2
