I tried to fit these today to my 2001 1150 and had several problems.

Firstly the spring would not fit over the footpeg carrier, it just dug in the carrier leaving a nice scratch.

Secondly the shims that adjust the angle of the pegs left it on a downward slant even using all the shims on one side.

Fitting was not listed for the bmw on the ones I was sent.

Has anyone else had problems with these or have I been sent the wrong ones.

I have mailed Norman and am awaiting a response but thought I would ask here as well.

spring

I've fitted mine last week and came across the same problem.
Not wanting to scratch the bike I scratched me head instead and cut the curled end off the sring and then bent out the last 5mm or so to make it engage against the inside of the carrier. Works well enough.

The bolt.....

......should also have a nut on it which is supplied in the kit. You add washers to alter the angle of the peg. The nut alone provides level footpegs.

Hope these two pics. help

Fitted my Fastway pegs last week with no probs. Spring was ok ( did not mark or dig into paintwork ) also came with nuts and washers. Had to use all the spacing washers to get the correct positioning of the footpeg.
I would get back onto Norman.

Thanks for the quick replys chaps,

Pictures are a great help :thumb

I can see straight away that I had no nuts :o in my kit... only washers. I will get a couple from local hardware tomorrow. :thumb

Glad to know I was not the only one who had a spring :bounce1 problem... I will get the wire cutters out tomorrow as well.

For now I have refitted the originals so will have a little job for tomorrow.

Thanks again :beerjug:

If you do a search there is a thread of Watton, he bent the spring open a bit and hey presto, read the thread myself and fitting was a doddle :thumb
