fat bars on 1150

It has been done but iirc you have to drill tge ends out of the fat bars and remove the ends off the old bars and fit them into the fat bars for the standard grips to work.

Probably better to try and source some 1200 bars, probably less hassle:nenau

Do a search here for Ricardo Khun.

He's an ergonomics guru, and creator of the famous Ricky bars.

There was a time (many years ago) when he was here a lot, offering a bespoke bar service......there was a form to fill in with lots of measurements and stuff, and your preferences for diameters etc....he's then make you up a set of matched bars, risers etc, and all the instructions for fitting the OEM grips, wiring etc to them.

He's still around over on AdvRider, but I haven't seen him here for years....his posts and the info should still be around though :)

Top geezer, old Ricardo......He was the guy who moved house using only his GS as a mule to transport everything, and he made up a rack for transporting push bikes on the back of his GS :clap

Magura fat bars, with Rox risers go straight onto an 1150/1100 just fit after market heated grips.:thumb

Go the route of above and they're still 'overly wide'

I fitted the bars off an 1150 Rockster to my 1150 GS years ago.

They aren't as high and wide as the standard GS bars, I find them much comfier.

They went straight on, everything fitted no problem, they even have the holes in them for the wires for the heated grips.
