Took my July 2006 1200GS in for its 6k service today. Was told late in the day by Battersea BMW that the Cam Chain Tensioner was faulty and that they had to keep the bike until they received a new part - hopefully tomorrow.
No loan bike available.

Anyone else had this problem ?? My previous bike (Blackbird) was known to suffer from this but at least that one lasted 16k each time, and the dealer stocked the parts !!

Two questions:
Anyone else had this problem ?? If so, at what mileage ?
Should I (dare I) expect BMW to pick up the extortionate cost of travelling home and back by peak time BR ??

Thanks !

No. Its not realistic if you think about it.
