I've had a slight problem with my 12GSA.

On startup it fails to see that it is in neutral and refuses to start. It can be started by pulling in the clutch but then will stall unless you ride off right away. It then thought it was in 6th then 3rd but sorted itself out.

Seems BMW know about this problem and mine is getting replaced under warranty next month.

I had the same problem. The dealer knew exactly the cause and remedy so mine obviously wasn't the first to show this fault. It was a pain in the arse not being able to start the bike and let it tick over without holding the clutch. Pulling away in 6th (indicated) was a first too

I've has two switches on my 12 gs. First time I just put up with it for a while but eventually the bike would not start, so get it seen to sharpish.

Had this as well, just sprayed the connection with loads of WD40 and so far OK. Not a great place to mount it as it gets covered in crap.
