I've got the spot/fog lights fitted (by BMW) to my GSA, and today I noticed they weren't working. I played about with the switch and found that if you turned them on they worked for a brief moment and then went off again. I found if I then pressed and held the switch the lights would come on, and stay on until I released my finger. I'm guessing there's a poor contact somewhere. Is this something I can easily fix myself (bearing in mind my mechanical knowledge and skills are very limited) to save me having to book it into the dealer, or should I just go through the hassle of taking it into the dealer?

Had the same problem with mine, i removed the switch popped out the grey front of the switch and on the underneath you will see a little square i glued a peice of plastic over it and it now has been working fine now for the last 12months, and a new switch costs £55.:thumb

Thanks for the info. Can you 'pop' the grey front of the switch without having to take anything apart first?

I have the 07 gsa with the fog light switch between the handlebars fitted into a box. remove the 4 screws that hold it down, turn it upside down then remove 2 screws on back remove rear cover the switch is held in by 2 clips, release clips with small screwdriver and push out switch through front of mount. On the side of the switch you will then see how the rocker part of the switch is held on lift up the sides carefully to remove rocker part of switch but be carefull as there is a plastic pin and small spring underneath. You will then see underneath the rocker switch the small square, cut peices of plastic to fit into it and it will be trial and error till u get it right mine protrudes about .5mm. Hope this is helpfull to you.:rob

I have the 2010 GSA and on quick examination my Fog light switch is located next to/above the left grip and appears to be an all-in-one units with the ESA, ASC, and On board Computer button. I'll have a look how complicated it is to take apart. If it looks too complicated I'll just have to take it into the dealer, the last thing I want is for the other buttons to not work :blast

Don't mess and risk invalidating your warranty.

The dealer is only about 20 miles away aren't they?
